Artist Statement

I have been a cop, a book seller, driven a forklift and waited on customers at a clay supplier, but I have always been an artist. Taking photographs, working with fibers, clay, mosaics, and whatever is handy - I love making things. Art school, classes, and many workshops have helped focus my creative impulses and given me the knowledge and skills to make and teach art full time.

Making art has been a transformative force in my life and it is my great joy to share that experience with others. I do not look at this practice as separate from teaching or my daily life. Each is important and it is the balance that gives each part meaning.
